My Island Culture - St. Lucia. Most Caribbean islands celebrate Carnival. The largest and most well-known is in Trinidad and Tobago. However, it is widely celebrated in the United States as well, with the huge West Indian Labor Day Parade in New York as well as in Miami and let's not forget Toronto's Caribana. Many other islands like Antigua, Aruba, Barbados, Bonaire, Cayman Islands, Cuba, Curaçao, Dominica, Dominican Republic, Grenada, Guadeloupe, Guyana, Haiti, Jamaica, Saint Maarten, my home Saint Lucia, Saint Kitts, Saint Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands, Saint Vincent, and the Grenadines hold lengthy carnival seasons and large celebrations. Let's not forget Brazil's Carnival, which is a must see!
Festivities include "jump-up" parades with costumes, floats, and live bands, as well as beauty contests and other competitions. Celebrations include a middle-of-the-night j'ouvert (juvé) parade that ends at sunrise. I wanted to celebrate carnival season with some of my designs that would work perfectly into your wardrobe for the celebrations.
J'ouvert is celebrated in many countries throughout the Caribbean. A celebration of freedom. Traditionally, the celebration involves calypso/soca bands and their followers dancing through the streets. The festival starts well before dawn and peaks a few hours after sunrise. Hence the meaning of the word "daybreak." It is also celebrated in many places outside the Caribbean as part of Carnival celebrations throughout the year. So get into the festivities and wear your bathing suit on your next vacation to these hot spots.
Time to get on bad and feel the heat with this bright and comfortable bikini! It’s too easy to fall in love with this bikini set. Removable pads and its double-layer make it comfy to wear all day by the pool or at the beach.
